Derailleur Hanger for Scott

The Pilo D779 Derailleur Hanger is a precision-machined replacement dropout hanger designed specifically for Scott frames. If you ride a Scott road, gravel, or mountain bike in India — across the technical descents of Lonavala, the broken tarmac of Delhi's outer ring roads, or the rocky trails near Pune — a spare derailleur hanger is one of the smartest and most affordable investments you can make to keep your drivetrain protected.

Our Take

India's roads demand a lot from your drivetrain. Pilo hangers are CNC-machined to tight tolerances, ensuring the replacement fits precisely and holds your derailleur in correct alignment — critical for accurate shifting. Unlike generic alternatives, this is a frame-specific part engineered to Scott's exact geometry. For riders tackling the Western Ghats or long brevets through Tamil Nadu, a snapped hanger mid-ride means a long walk home. Carrying this lightweight spare eliminates that risk entirely.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Derailleur hangers are frame-specific, not rider-specific, so body size is irrelevant here. What matters is confirming your exact Scott frame model and year before ordering. Scott has produced many frame generations and hanger interfaces vary between them. Check your frame's model name — found on the top tube or downtube — and cross-reference with the D779 fitment to ensure compatibility before placing your order.

Compatibility Notes

The Pilo D779 is designed exclusively for compatible Scott frames. It works with both mechanical and electronic rear derailleurs across Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo groupsets. Hangers are aluminium alloy and should be replaced — not bent back — after any impact. Keep one spare in your saddle bag and another at home. Do not use thread-locking compounds on the derailleur bolt unless specified by your derailleur manufacturer.

Pairs Well With

Consider pairing this hanger with a quality rear derailleur from your preferred groupset tier, a derailleur hanger alignment tool for workshop use, a chain wear indicator to assess drivetrain condition after any impact, and a compact multi-tool with the correct allen keys for roadside hanger swaps.
