Derailleur Hanger for Airwolf, Elves

The Pilo D996 Derailleur Hanger is a precision-engineered replacement dropout designed specifically for Airwolf frames. On India's varied road surfaces — from the cracked tarmac of city commutes to the rough descents of Lonavala or Coorg — a snapped hanger is a ride-ending inconvenience. Carrying a spare Pilo hanger means you are back rolling within minutes.

Our Take

Indian riding conditions are hard on drivetrain components. Pilo's D996 is machined to tight tolerances, ensuring clean derailleur alignment that protects your rear mech from the kind of knock damage that is almost inevitable on the potholed roads around Pune or the gravel patches near Ooty. This is a consumable part that every Airwolf owner should keep in their saddlebag or toolkit at all times — inexpensive insurance for an expensive frame.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a frame-specific part and sizing is determined entirely by your frame, not your body. Confirm you own an Airwolf-brand frame before ordering. No heat or fit considerations apply, but keep a spare at home and one in your riding kit bag, especially during monsoon season when road debris increases the risk of hanger strikes significantly.

Compatibility Notes

The D996 is designed exclusively for Airwolf frames. It is compatible with standard derailleur bolt patterns and works with both mechanical and electronic rear derailleurs. Inspect the hanger after any impact. Clean threads with a dry cloth before installation and use a thread-checking tool to confirm alignment post-fit.

Pairs Well With

Round out your drivetrain protection with a quality rear derailleur, a derailleur hanger alignment tool for home workshop use, a compact multi-tool for trailside fixes, and a spare derailleur cable set — all available at Cobbled Climbs.
