Shimano Shadow Rear Derailleur Adapter

The Pilo S10 Shimano Shadow Adapter is a precision-machined derailleur component designed to bridge compatibility gaps between older dropout standards and Shimano's Shadow and Shadow+ rear derailleurs. For Indian riders dealing with unpredictable road surfaces — from Pune's potholed ring roads to the steep descents of Lonavala — a correctly fitted derailleur adapter is the kind of small part that quietly prevents big mechanical failures mid-ride.

Our Take

Pilo's engineering reputation is built on tight tolerances and consistent fitment, and the S10 adapter reflects that approach. In Indian riding conditions — heat-warped tarmac, laden bikes on Ghats climbs, and the vibration from rough city roads in Hyderabad or Delhi — the derailleur hanger and its adapters take real punishment. The S10 is a sensible, affordable insurance policy that keeps your Shimano Shadow drivetrain aligned and shifting accurately when it matters most.

Sizing for Indian Riders

The S10 is a fixed-dimension adapter specific to compatible Shimano Shadow derailleur interfaces — there is no size selection required. Confirm your frame's dropout standard and derailleur model before ordering. Indian summers above 35°C do not meaningfully affect a machined metal adapter, but always check fitment clearance if your frame uses a non-standard dropout, which is common on some locally assembled bikes.

Compatibility Notes

Designed for use with Shimano Shadow and Shadow+ rear derailleurs on compatible dropout standards. Not universally compatible — verify your frame's hanger interface before purchasing. Keep threads clean and lightly lubricated, particularly during monsoon season when road grit and water accelerate corrosion on exposed drivetrain hardware. Hand-tighten to the recommended torque spec to avoid stripping.

Pairs Well With

Complete the drivetrain setup with a quality rear derailleur from our Shimano range, a replacement derailleur hanger matched to your frame, a drivetrain-compatible chain and cassette, and a cable-and-housing set to ensure precise shifting from the first pedal stroke.
